Why

ONE consulting?

I founded One Consulting because I believe even the biggest challenges become achievable when you break them into smaller pieces and focus on one priority at a time.

The name reflects both the agile methodology I use (always identifying the most important thing first) and the human truth that overwhelming projects become manageable when we take them one bite at a time.

It's also a reminder that every organization has one mission that matters most—and technology should serve that mission, not complicate it.

My Philosophy

ASK OFTEN: Technology decisions are more fruitful when seeded in collaborative ground. I involve stakeholders early so expectations and goals are understood and achievable.

STAY AGILE: Cultures should be willing to adapt technology to stakeholders' changing needs. I use data—user surveys, analytics, focus groups—to inform decisions, not guesswork.

LISTEN FIRST: Business owners who are heard before advised are better advocates. I prioritize understanding concerns and goals before recommending solutions.

GOALS MATTER: Prioritization is about delivering the right value towards the right KPIs. I ensure resources go to initiatives that align with mission and deliver measurable impact.

BRIDGE SILOS: Process improvements should reduce friction and increase collaboration. I look for workflow optimizations that help teams work together more effectively.

MOVE MISSION: IT teams should give people the best tools to do their best work…together. Everything I do is in service of helping organizations achieve their mission.

How I work

I communicate complex things simply: My superpower is translating technical jargon into language everyone can understand. I use diagrams, analogies, and straightforward explanations so stakeholders can make informed decisions.

I respect that perceived risk is real risk: If a key person is concerned about something, it matters—even if the probability seems low. I address concerns directly and communicate how we're mitigating them.

I listen well and equip people with choices: I don't dictate solutions. Instead, I research options, present pros and cons, and help leaders make decisions with full context.

I compassionately help staff adapt to change: Technology changes can be stressful. I create training, provide support at critical moments, and ensure people feel equipped—not abandoned—during transitions.

I care deeply about people and their success: This isn't just a tagline. I genuinely want my colleagues and clients to thrive. My sincerity and honesty are the foundation for lasting relationships.

My Story

My path to technology leadership is a bit unconventional. I started my career as an architect, designing buildings and leading city-shaping projects. That experience taught me that the best solutions come from collaborative design processes where stakeholders are involved early and their needs inform every decision.

When I transitioned into technology leadership—first as the founder of an architecture firm, then in senior roles at the American Institute of Architects and the Council on Tall Buildings—I brought that same philosophy with me. Technology projects are really people projects. The systems are just tools. What matters is whether those tools help people do their best work.

Over the past 20+ years, I've led multimillion-dollar technology initiatives, managed complex teams, and implemented systems serving hundreds of thousands of users. But I'm most proud of the relationships I've built and the trust I've earned by making technology approachable, transparent, and mission-focused.
